Israel's PM Netanyahu has said that UN Secretary General Guterres is promoting terrorism and hatred against Israel. - Dainik Bhaskar

Israeli PM Netanyahu has said that UN Secretary General Guterres is promoting terrorism and hatred against Israel.

So far, 15,571 children have lost their lives in the Israel-Hamas war. The UN has considered these killings in Israeli attacks as shameful for the world and has put Israel in the List of Shame. In view of the allegations of human rights violations against Israel, the UN has blacklisted it.

Israel is now among the countries that harm children. According to a report by the Times of Israel, the United Nations (UN) has included Israel, Hamas and Palestinian Jihad in the 'List of Shame'.

The office of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres finalized the annual report of shameful countries and organizations. After this, Israeli Ambassador Gilad Erdan was informed about it. This decision has been taken in view of the atrocities being committed on children in Gaza amid the war. This is the first time that Israel and Hamas have been added to this list.

Netanyahu said- By doing this, UN got blacklisted in history
Reacting to the report, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “The UN has added our name to this list based on the absurd claims of Hamas. By doing this, Secretary General Antonio Guterres has blacklisted himself in history. He promotes terrorism and hatred against Israel.”

Netanyahu said, “The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is the most humane army in the world. No decision by the UN can change this reality.”

On the other hand, Palestine's representative to the UN, Riyad Mansour, has said that adding Israel to the List of Shame cannot give a second life to the children who died in the Israeli attack. Nevertheless, this is an important step to register protest against Israel's atrocities.

Russia was added to the list last year
Apart from Israel and Hamas, the UN list so far includes Russia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Myanmar, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, ISIS and Al Qaeda. Last year, Russia was added to this list in view of the atrocities committed on children due to the war in Ukraine.

Earlier, during the Israel-Palestine conflict, the deaths of children here were mentioned several times in UN reports. However, they were never added to the list until now.

Threat of famine in Gaza, 23 lakh people on the verge of starvation
According to UN experts, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has increased due to Israel's ban on the supply of food, water, medicines and other essential goods. There is a threat of famine in many parts of Gaza. Earlier this week, UNICEF reported that 9 out of 10 Palestinian children are living in severe food poverty amid the war.

According to the UN, more than 2.3 million people in Gaza are on the verge of starvation. The worst situation is of children born during the war. In April, 30 children under the age of 12 died of malnutrition in Gaza hospitals.

India's name was in the 'List of Shame' for 12 years
In the year 2010, India's name was also added to this list. Actually, this list also includes those countries which are not taking necessary steps for the safety and protection of children in their country. Then, apart from India, countries like Pakistan and Philippines were added to the list. However, last year Antonio Guterres removed India's name from this list. He had said that this decision was taken after the steps taken by the Indian government for the betterment of children.
